GF28.10-P-0002-01A Transfer Case (VG) Preconditions For the Low/ Model 163 High Shift

GF28.10-P-0002-01A Transfer case (VG) preconditions for the low/ Model 163 high shift
Before the electronic transfer case control allows a change of transmission ratio, the transfer case control module (N78) checks that the following conditions are fulfilled:

- Wheel speed is zero at all four wheels (vehicle stationary)
- CAN signal from electronic traction system (ETS)

- Selector lever in neutral position
- Can signal from electronic transmission control

- Engine speed between 400/rpm and 1500/rpm (idle)
- CAN signal from electronic engine control (ME)

- Position of transfer case range selection motor
- Input signal from position sensor to determine the direction of rotation of the electric range selection motor.

Note:
If all the preconditions for shifting are fulfilled, the transfer case control module (N78) actuates the transfer case range selection motor (A55) and changes the transmission ratio in the transfer case.
