Software Retrofit Process





Software-based options and functions can now be retrofitted. The SA code designation, relevant part number and price is accessible via the Daimler After-Sales Portal. Click the top right Info-Center menu link and select PIT (Product Information Tool) After-Sales > Service > Software Retrofit: Retrofits. Or simply click search on the Home page and enter retrofit. It will be the first selection in the list of results.

Process Sequence

Check that the equipment exists in the vehicle before proceeding.

1. Place order using VIN with the corresponding part number found in the parts information section

2. Code is activated by the technical parts advisory service in Germany using Vedoc

3. Code appears in Vedoc equipment list for the vehicle

4. Activate the SA function by SCN coding the affected control unit
Process Time Order processing in the GLC usually takes approximately 5 hours. If placed before noon anticipate that the order will be processed the same day, otherwise assume with some exceptions that the order will be processed the following workday.
