Replacing Components

WHEN REPLACING COMPRESSOR
If the compressor is to be replaced, drain oil from old compressor and measure amount of oil recovered, then drain oil from replacement compressor and proceed as follows:
- If less than 1.3 ounces from old compressor, add 3 ounces to replacement compressor.
- If more than 1.3 ounces from old compressor, add drained amount to replacement compressor.
- If oil drained from old compressor is contaminated, flush system and add 6 ounces of oil to replacement compressor.

NOTE: Whenever compressor is replaced, the receiver-dryer should also be replaced, but do not add oil to receiver-dryer.


OTHER COMPONENTS
For other services to refrigeration system, add the following amounts of oil:
- Recharge system with more than 7.5 ounces of refrigerant or complete recharge, 1.1 ounces
- Replaced condenser, 1.7 ounces
- Replaced evaporator, 2.3 ounces
- Replaced receiver dryer, 1.3 ounces
