Testing Vacuum Circuits VII and VIII

A. Testing Vacuum Circuit VII With Vacuum Element (42 And 43) For Fresh Air-recirculated Air Flap And Main Air Flap 1st Stage:
1. Remove glove box.
2. Remove righthand cover under instrument panel.
3. Remove righthand lateral lining of center console.






4. Pull red vacuum line from switchover valve (17) and connect tester.






5. Evacuate vacuum circuit VII while paying attention to operation of main air flap. In the event of a pressure increase on pressure gauge, check vacuum element (42 or 43) individually and replace, if required.

B. Testing Vacuum Circuit VIII With Vacuum Element (42 And 43) For Fresh Air-recirculated Air Flap And Main Air Flap 2nd Stage:






1. Pull vacuum line green/blue from switchover valve (16) and connect tester.






2. Evacuate vacuum circuit VIII. In the event of a pressure increase on pressure gauge. test vacuum element (42 or 43) individually and replace. if required.
3. Install righthand cover under instrument panel.
4. Install glove box.
5. Install righthand lateral lining of center console.
