Suspension - Level Control System Inoperative

SUBJECT: HIGH PRESSURE HOSES MODEL 126 WITH LEVEL CONTROL


High pressure hoses were installed on the above vehicles during the MarchApril 1988 production period, in which it was possible for plastic particles to break away from the inner wall of the hose and cause internal leakage in the level control system.

In case of customer complaints regarding

- uncontrollable lowering of vehicle, - vehicle level at rear too low, or
- no pressure in system the high pressure hose should be inspected. To check if particles have broken off from the inner wall of the hose, simply remove and inspect the filter element in the oil reservoir. If the filter element contains plastic particles, the following procedure must be performed.
Procedure

1. Remove high pressure hose.


2. Loosen all pressure line connections.

3. Remove leveling valve.

4. Blow out all pressure lines with compressed air.

5. Replace high pressure hose, leveling valve, oil reservoir filter element and hydraulic oil.

Note: Replace suspension struts and pressure reservoirs only when previous repair attempts were unsuccessful.
