Shift Gate Shutter Binds or Breakers

REMEDY:
Installed new version shift gate shutter, part no. 140 267 02 26.

NOTE:
- It is unnecessary to completely remove or relace the entire slotted gate indicator housing when only the shutter has failed.
- If problems continue to exist with the shift gate the shift gate shutter binding or breaking, permanently remove both plastic shutter-guides, part no.'s 140 260 00 32 and 140 260 01 32, from shift gate housing.

Production Phase-In: Vehicle as of 6/91 production are in order.
