TO: ALL DEALER SERVICE MANAGERS / ALL DEALER PARTS MANAGERS

SUBJECT: GROUP 27 - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 722.3, 722.5

Recently, there has been an increase in complaints of automatic transmission oil pan gaskets, part no. 126 271 10 80, leaking. Typically occurring approximately one week after transmission servicing at the 30K or 60K maintenance service. Reports include descriptions of gasket tearing / splitting along the side lengths, or rolling inward at the forward corners.

Please report all cases of the above mentioned complaint to your Service Operation Manager and if possible, send the leaking pan, gasket with vehicle information and red tag to Montvale Warranty Receiving to be forwarded to MBAG.

As a remedy against this complaint, we recommend installation of gasket 126 271 11 80. This subject will be included in the 9/94 Diagnostic Directory.
