MODEL 126 WITHOUT HEATED SEATS
INSTALLATION OF CONNECTOR BLOCK FOR ACCESSORY EQUIPMENT (X30)
Model 126 vehicles without heated seats are not equipped with the connector block for accessory equipment (X30, Figure 1).
This connector block should be installed prior to installing any aftermarket electrical equipment. It is the best method of supplying a source for circuits 30, 15, 15R, 58d and 31 (up to approx. 5 amps) while maintaining vehicle wiring integrity.
Procedure
1. Disconnect and cover battery negative terminal.
2. Remove left front floor mat/carpeting.
3. Remove cover on left front rocker panel.
4. Remove both covers under left side of instrument panel.
5. Remove cover on lower area of left A-pillar.
6. Remove left knee bolster.
7. Remove air hoses for left air vent, defroster vent and door vent.
8. Remove accelerator pedal
9. Remove panel on left side of center console.
10. Remove instrument cluster.
11. Remove cover of fuse/relay box, then release fuse carrier (a) and lift upwards (Figure 2).
12. Attach connector block (X3O) on left side of driver's footwell area. The mounting holes are already present (Figure 3).
13. Pull connector block wires with connectors into fuse/relay box and connect to fused-side of fuse carrier (a, Figure 4) as follows:
black/yellow wire to fuse 19,
black/red wire to fuse 8,
red/white wire to fuse 15.
Be sure to route the wires through the existing body wiring grommets
14. Reattach fuse carrier.
15. Close fuse/relay box.
16. Route connector block harness with two connections to instrument cluster opening and connect brown wire to ground location (W1, Figure 5).
17. Route grey/blue wire further under instrument panel along main vehicle harness to the center console and attach with electrical tape (Figure 6).
18. Connect grey/blue wire to terminal block (X6, Figure 7).
19. Reinstall instrument cluster.
20. Reconnect battery negative terminal.
21. Using a voltmeter, verify wiring and operation of connector block.
22. Reinstall panel on left side of center console.
23. Reinstall accelerator pedal.
24. Reinstall air hoses for left air vent, defroster vent and door vent.
25. Reinstall left knee bolster.
26. Reinstall cover on lower area of left A-pillar.
27. Reinstall both covers under left side of instrument panel.
28. Insert left front floor mat/carpeting.
