Electrical Outside Temperature Display

Testing Electrical Outside Temperature Display

Preceding operation:
Instrument cluster removed. Service and Repair

- Check voltage on coupling outside temperature check, between jack 3 (terminal 15) and gauge jack 1 (ground).
Key position 2, nominal value: battery voltage.
- Check illumination on coupling outside temperature gauge, between jack 1 (ground) and jack 2 (instrument lighting), lighting switched on.
The voltage to be measured is dependent on the position of the regulating resistor (A1r1) of the instrument lighting.
- If normal values are not achieved check contacts and wires for interruption.
Main ground behind instrument cluster (W1), terminal block interior terminal 15/30 (X5/1), terminal block terminal 58d and connector.
- Check outside temperature sensor gauge (B14).

- Check outside temperature gauge (A1p4). Enter resistance values on 2-pole coupling by means of resistance decade.

Note: Measuring range - 38 °C to +58 °C (indication graduated in steps of 0.5 °C).
