SUBJECT: NEW ADHESIVE MIXTURE FOR INSTALLING THE WINDSHIELD AND REAR WINDOW MODELS 107, 126 AND 201

A - Previous Primer B - Present Primer:

The repair kit 126 670 01 93, now applicable to models 107, 126 and 201, contains a new primer and has to be mixed in a different proportion. The new primer has a cloudy appearance (not clear) and comes in a smaller container.
Prior to installing a new windshield, it is no longer necessary to completely remove the adhesive residue from the flanged windshield body frame opening.. It is sufficient to scrape away the adhesive, down to several tenths of a millimeter, using special tool no. 201 589 01 68 00, which will reduce the repair time.
IMPORTANT: A small number of model 201 windshields were installed using a single component polyurethane adhesive. These vehicles have an identification label located under the dash pad toward the left side of the windshield, indicating the use of repair kit 201 670 00 93 when replacing the windshield. This label is to be disregarded.
