Slipping or Flare on 2-3 Upshift at Partial Load

NOTE: This repair can be performed with body installed in transmission.

Affected Vehicles:

CAUSE: Reduction of friction coefficient in Clutch 1 inner discs.

REMEDY:
1. Remove transmission oil pan.

Figure 1:

2. Unscrew end-plate of K1 accumulator (48) and remove accumulator piston with spring assembly (48, 48a, 48b).
3. Install modified spring kit in K1 accumulator (48) of valve body accumulator housing.

Figure 2:

NOTE: Ensure seal rings on accumulator piston (48, Figure 2) are not damaged.

4. Reinstall accumulator end-plate and transmission oil pan.
