Poor Idling, Warm Up Characteristics
07.3-82101 Poor Idling, Poor Warm-Up Characteristics All Gasoline Engines Revised 10/85 10/821. Cause:
Air leak around injection valves, faulty injection valves. Vacuum leak, vacuum hose came loose at intake manifold.
Remedy:
Replace injection valve seals, check injection valves as per S.I. 07.3/18 of 11/78 and check fuel lines for tension free installation.
NOTE:
The oxygen sensor is usually not the cause for rough Idling of engine.
2. Cause:
Malfunction in EGR System, Air Injection System, or Fuel Injection System.
Remedy:
Perform appropriate emission system tests.
3. Cause:
Idle speed and CO value too low. Spark plug gap too small.
Remedy:
Check idle speed and fuel-air mixture (Lambda). Adjust spark plug gap (0.8 mm/0.032"). Check idle air distribution hose for restriction. Check spark plug connectors for intermittent short circuit.
Note:
Make certain that clean and good fuel is in vehicle.
