UNNECESSARY REPLACEMENT OF ALTERNATORS

Inspection of alternators returned to Warranty often has shown them to be in proper working order i.e. no fault could be determined. Therefore, warranty claims for defective alternators found to be OK will be rejected in the future.

Before replacing an alternator, the alternator should be thoroughly tested as per the SMS Repair Instructions, Electrical System, Group 15.
