When the battery is charged during normal driving highly explosive gas is formed, which must not be allowed to escape into the trunk or interior of the car for protection of the passengers.

A degassing line is connected to the battery for exhausting the gas outdoors.

When working on the battery, particularly when installing, ensure that the degassing line is connected to the degassing line fitting on the battery correctly.

Check connected degassing line for kinks and proper passage.
