Body - Amaretta Interior Cleaning

TO: OUR MERCEDES-BENZ PASSENGER CAR DEALERS

DATE: November 1986 REF.NO. MBNA 91/8

SUBJECT: CLEANING AMARETTA INTERIOR

The Amaretta interior must be cleaned and brushed regularly. Dirt and soil spots must be removed immediately.

Brush with nylon or natural hair brush and then vacuum. If this is unsuccessful in removing the dirt, use the following procedure:

Cleaning water soluble stains

Water soluble stains can be treated with a solution of mild detergent (Woolite is recommended) and warm water. Before treating the stain, the solution should be tested on the material in an area hidden from direct view. Brush area with nylon or natural hair brush. Moisten a clean piece of cloth with solution and rub the stain lightly, working towards its center. Do not use excessive rubbing pressure on the material. Rinse the stain using a clean piece of cloth soaked in clean cold water (wring out excess water first). Let the material dry thoroughly and brush again.

Note: Do not use artificial drying methods to hasten drying time (i.e.: hair dryer, heat lamp, etc.).

CAUTION: On vehicles so equipped, the seat heaters must not be used until the material is thoroughly dry.
Cleaning oil and grease spots

Same as "Cleaning water soluble stains". However, it may be necessary to repeat the process.

Removal of minor surface burn spots

Brush with nylon or natural hair brush. Sand with a fine grain sand paper. Brush again.

Note: Avoid using any chemical cleaning solvents since they may discolor the material.
