Warranty - Return of Fuel System Components

RETURN OF FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS TO MBNA


Please discard your copy of Service Information MBNA 00/41, August 1990, and replace it with this revised version.

Recent warranty returns of fuel system components have been received in a damaged and/or contaminated state due to improper packaging. It should be noted that all warranty returns and especially fuel system components must be packaged in the same manner as the new part received.

1. Diesel








Diesel fuel components such as: injection pumps (Figure 1), injectors (Figure 2) and fuel feed pumps, must be wiped clean and shipped with plugged fuel connections and wrapped in the original packing material of the replacement component. Particular attention must be paid in closing all connections on injection pumps (arrows, Figure 1) with the closure plugs provided from the replacement pump.

2. Gasoline





Gasoline fuel components such as: injectors (Figure 2), fuel Distributors (Figure 3), etc. should also be shipped with all external threaded fuel connections plugged. wrapped and or boxed in the original packing material of the replacement component.

Note:
In the future, improperly packaged parts will be returned and debited to the dealer's parts account.
