A. Checking Receiver-Drier Fluid Level





1. Clean sight glass on receiver-drier (arrow, Figure 1).

2. Pull off one wire from the pressure switch (17, Figure 1).

3. Idle engine and engage A/C compressor from the pushbutton control panel.

4. Watch sight glass and at the same time reattach the wire to the pressure switch.

Shortly after the A/C compressor clutch is switched on, the fluid level must rise, and the refrigerant should flow past the sight glass free of bubbles (i.e.: the refrigerant will not be visible).

If bubbles are present, check the system for leaks using Refrigerant Leak Detector. Seal and charge system with R12 refrigerant.
