Double Engagement In Drive and Starting Off From A Standstill

Parts Information:

CAUSE/REMEDY:
Drain five liters of fluid from the automatic transmission and add one five liter container of the special transmission fluid listed in Parts Information below.

CAUTION:
- This ATF oil must only be used to remedy transmission harsh engagement complaint. Transmissions filled with this oil must be refilled with the same ATF oil when the oil is changed. Affix a notice to this effect on the transmission dipstick tube.
- Do not exceed either five liters or 70% fill ratio of this special fluid to regular approved transmission fluid.
- The benefits of this fluid are not immediate. Evaluate any improvement to engagement complaint after vehicle has been driven approx. 500 miles.
- This fluid is intended for transmissions that have mileage accumulation. This fluid is not to be added to new transmissions.

NOTE: If the engagement quality remains unsatisfactory after changing the fluid and 500 mile evaluation. proceed as follows:

1. Harsh engagement in "D": verify correct Band 2 release clearance or replace Band 2.
2. Only replace outer disc carrier K2 if the profile is worn or it the outer disc carrier K2 is depressed in the middle.
