As of January 1990, modified rubber mounts are installed at the front mounting of the rear axle carrier.

These rubber mounts, with two opposed kidney-shaped recesses, may slightly reduce vibration which is transmitted to the body via the rear axle mounting.

In case of complaints of vibration coming from the rear of the vehicle (often felt through the rear seats), the modified rubber mounts should be installed in models prior to production phase-in as of model year 1986. Always install the mounts in pairs.

Repair Note: When installing the rubber mounts, the kidney-shaped recesses must face in driving direction (arrow, Figure 1). The mounts are respectively marked for left and right sides.
