Remedy:
On model year 1888 vehicles, the idle speed (with transmission in gear) can be raised 50 rpm by connecting terminal "C" (terminal 5 on connector of idle speed control unit N8) to ground using shop-made harness (figures).
This procedure can also be performed on model year 1988/1987 vehicles.
For all 1986/1987 models except 126.035 (42OSEL), the idle speed control unit (N8) must first be replaced with the model year 1988 version, as the previous control units do not have the connection "C".
