Fan Clutch Assembly

NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

Replacement
1. Remove fan shroud.





2. Fit on wrench (7) 120 58914 07 00, or equivalent, at bolt of viscous fan clutch.
3. Fit on torque wrench (8) 001 589 72 21 00, or equivalent, with head in wrench (7) removed.
4. Fit on counter-holder (1) 120 589 02 01 00, or equivalent.
5. Slacken bolt (4) of viscous fan clutch (3).
6. Turn wrench (7) with handle (a).
7. Unscrew bolt (4).
8. Remove viscous fan clutch (3) together with fan (2) and bolt (4).
9. Unbolt viscous fan clutch (3) and fan (2).
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- As a result of cast rib, fan (2) can only be installed on one side.
- Tighten the fan to viscous fan clutch bolts to 10 Nm.
- Tighten the viscous fan clutch bolt (4) to bearing body to 45 Nm
