SUBJECT: MODELS 124 (EXCEPT 124.034/036/066) and 201
CD CHANGER INSTALLATION
1. Remove hardware from shipping box and verify contents.
2. Remove shipping screws (2) from CD changer. Reposition screws in storage location (1). Cover screws holes with dust covers (Fig. 1).
3. Place template on main bracket. Position trunk bracket underneath and align fastening holes (use center and two W201/W-C124 holes). Fasten with three M4x6 bolts.
Be sure to use template to select proper fastening holes.
4. Install side brackets on bottom of CD changer unit with the mounting holes of the brackets facing out (Fig. 2). Secure with two M4x6 bolts.
5. Attach interface box to rear of CD changer unit using three M2x5 bolts (Models 124 only) (Fig. 3).
6. Remove trunk floor mat and right wheel well liner.
7. Connect the black BUS cable from interface to CD changer (connector does not utilize retaining clips).Connect female 4-pole connector from interface to male 4-pole connector from CD changer unit.
8. Disconnect 4-pole female power supply connector from tuner/amplifier.. Connect male 4-pole power connector from adapter harness to 4-pole female connector just removed from tuner amplifier. Connect 4-pole female connector from adapter harness to tuner amplifier.
9. Disconnect white BUS cable connector from tuner amplifier and reconnect to female connector on adapter harness. Connect male connector on adapter harness to tuner/amplifier.
10. Route harness behind sunroof drain hose. Secure with cable ties.
11. Measure from trunk sill panel to rear edge of CD changer bracket. Punch and drill three 3 mm holes. Remove metal shavings and apply zinc dust paint (Fig. 4).
Models 124: 19 cm
Models 201: 12 cm
Note:
Do not use existing holes.
12. Fasten bracket using three M5x15 sheet metal screws.
13. Reinstall wheel well liner.
14. Connect grey BUS cable connector to grey dot and black BUS connector to remaining connection. Connect female connector from harness to male connector on CD changer interface.
15. Slide CD changer unit into bracket until the unit audibly clicks into position. Secure with two M5x10 bolts.
16. Install CD changer cover.
17. Reinstall trunk floor mat.
18. Install CD magazine in to CD changer unit.
19. Test function.
