Condenser Fan: Service and Repair








Air conditioner
Empty (recycling)

Battery
Disconnect negative pole.

Protective grille
Remove, 2 clips (1), 2 screw clips (2).

Electrical plug connections (M4x1 and M4x2)
Disconnect.

Upper pressure line
Unscrew at condenser and seal openings (part set 140 830 01 27).

Raise vehicle
Open left opening in bumper.

Bracket for pressure line
Remove (1 nut)

Pressure line on condenser
Remove and seal openings

Radiator together with condenser
Remove.

3 screws (4)
Unscrew.

11 clips (94)
Press out and remove frame (90).

Plug connections M4x1, M4x2
Disconnect

6 screws (84)
Unscrew.

Auxiliary fan
Remove.

Auxiliary fan
Disconnect, unscrew 2 screws (88).

Install
In reverse sequence whilst lubricating the connection thread with compressor oil (refer to note).

Receiver dehydrator
Renew. Service and Repair

Air conditioner
Evacuate, refill, check function and leaks; only run engine at idle in the first 4 minutes.

NOTE: If the condenser is not reinstalled immediately, flush out the condenser with nitrogen. Then seal off the connection with plugs. When renewing the condenser, fill it with 20 cubic cm compressor oil.

Function check
Perform by disconnecting plug on coolant temperature sensor for air conditioner B10/8 and setting 310 Ohm (stage I) or 250 Ohm (stage II) with ohm decade (124 589 096 300), connect battery, switch on ignition and set control unit (KLA) to "Auto". Auxiliary fans rotate clockwise.

NOTE: Parts which have come into contact with compressor oil for R12 or R134a may only be installed in systems operating with the same refrigerant.
