Checking Electrical Function



Preliminary operation:
Checking central locking for function, Checking Function










Special tools

Commercially available tool
Multimeter e.g. Sun, DMM-5

Prerequisites for testing
1. Battery voltage 11 - 14 V.
2. Key removed from steering lock.
3. Doors and trunk lid unlocked.
4. Side windows open.

Preparing test
1. Remove supply pump (M14/1, M14/2). Service and Repair
2. Connect contact box with test cable harness in accordance with the wiring diagram.
3. Do not close pneumatic lines.


NOTE: Test steps 4.1 and 4.2 as well as 7.1 through 7.4 are not required on vehicles with infrared remote central locking as of 01/94 except (USA) (J)

NOTE:
1. Supply pumps with/without output for control of starter lockout relay and supply pumps with input for CL interior control switch are not interchangeable.
2. If supply pump does not function even though all reference values are reached, replace pump.
