Screws on main bearing, screw out (observe note) item 3-4

Removal
1. Protect fenders from damage with adhesive tape.
Caution: Danger of injury from moving parts on top. While operating do not reach between top linkage.
2. Remove cover.
Top Positions:
3. Screw out screw on main bearing (A, B).
Note: The top positions required for screwing out the screws can be reached with the top switch or manually (ignition switched off). Before removing, mark all screws and position of main bearing with felt tip marker to avoid extensive top adjustment work.
4. Remove bolt on top cylinder and press piston rod all the way in.
Note: Remove ignition key to prevent unintentional actuation of top switch. Before disconnecting hydraulic lines move cloth holding brace up and down a number of times to drain hydraulic cylinders.
5. Disconnect plug connectors.
6. Remove hydraulic lines No. 87, 96 on left and No. 85, 94 on right from distributors (next to top cylinders, bottom).
Attention!: The hydraulic lines must be plugged immediately with plugs 129 589 00 91 07, the connections with plugs 129 589 00 91 11.
7. Lift top off of center pillar with aid of second mechanic and deposit in top compartment.
8. Pull hydraulic lines and cables out of center pillar.
9. Lift top with aid of second mechanic, have third mechanic does top compartment cover and remove top from vehicle toward rear over rear end.
Installation
10. Lift top over rear end onto vehicle with aid of second mechanic
11. Have third mechanic open top compartment cover.
12. Deposit top in top compartment (position 8).
13. Insert hydraulic lines and cables (position 9).
14. Position top on center pillar, screw in rear screws (A) and tighten lightly.
NOTE: Screw in front screws (B) first, then connect hydraulic lines, otherwise the plugs can be pressed off of the hoses by moving the top.
15. Connect hydraulic lines.
NOTE: The code numbers on the lines must coincide with the numbers on the connection.
16. Connect electrical plug connectors (position 6).
17. Lock top with top wrench at rear (A) and front (B).
18. Check position of top in relation to side windows adjust if required. Open top. Adjustments
19. Tighten screws on main bearing.
20. Pull up piston rod with hook (self-made).
21. Center piston rod with special tool part No. 129 589 04 21 00 and install bolt.
22. Reinstall in opposite order.
23. Check for proper function and leakage.
