Function of Power Flow In 2ND Gear
PRINCIPLE OF POWER TRANSMISSION IN 2ND GEAR
- Via the input shaft (1) and using the center and rear planetary gear set the torque from the torque converter is increased and transmitted to the output shaft (5).
FRONT PLANETARY GEAR SET
- The planet carrier (V3) and sun gear (V1) are rigidly connected to each other via the engaged multiple-disc clutch K1. The planetary gear set is therefore locked and rotates as a closed unit at the input speed due to the mechanical connection between the internally-geared wheel (V4) and the input shaft (1).
REAR PLANETARY GEAR SET
- The internally-geared wheel (H4) rotates at the input speed due to the mechanical connection to the front planet carrier (V3). The sun gear (H1) is supported at the housing via the engaged multiple-disc brake 82 and in drive mode via the locked freewheel F2, in overrun mode via the engaged multiple-disc clutch K3. the planet gears (H2) roll on the fixed sun gear (H1to and make for an increase in torque from the internally-geared wheel (H4) to the planet carrier (Hid. The planet carrier (H3) moves with reduced speed in the direction of rotation of the engine.
CENTER PLANETARY GEAR SET
- The internally-geared wheel (M4) is driven at the same speed as the rear planet carrier (H3) due to a mechanical connection. The sun gear (Mid is supported on the housing via the multiple-disc brake B2. The planet gears (M2) roll on the fixed sun gear (M1) and make for an increase in torque from the internally-geared wheel (M4) to the planet carrier (M3). The output shaft (5) connected to the planet carrier (M3) rotates at a reduced speed in the direction of rotation of the engine.
