Removing And Installing Cellular Telephone Interface
- With CODE (316) & CODE (317)

1 Connect quiescent current retention unit

See "Commercially Available Tools" given below.

2 Disconnect ground lead from battery
3 Remove side paneling in trunk on left

NOTE: Only with cellular telephone code 317

4 Remove assembly rear wall

NOTE: Only with permanently installed telephone code 316

5 Unscrew nuts (3)

NOTE: Only with cellular telephone code 317

6 Carefully pry mount (2) with control modules out of wheelhouse cavity

NOTE: Only with cellular telephone code 317

CAUTION: Do not damage connection leads

7 Unlock connector on control module and disconnect

CAUTION: Do not kink or stretch fiber optic cable

8 Disconnect antenna lead on CTEL transmitter and receiver (A35)
9 Loosen sheet metal screw (1)
10 Remove CTEL interface (A34/4)
11 Install in opposite order
