Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair

AR42.40-P-0816A Remove/Install ETS/ASR/Esp Hydraulic Unit
- with CODE (212a) Electronic traction support (ETS)
- with CODE (471a) Acceleration slip regulation (ASR)
- with CODE (472a) Electronic stability program (ESP)

Removal

NOTE:
^ Refer to Notes On Brake Fluid.
^ Refer to Notes on Test and Repair Work to brake system.

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect hydraulic lines.
- Seal hydraulic lines and connections with blind plugs.

CAUTION: Do not transpose lines.

3. Remove hydraulic unit.
- Model 170, pull upward out of the rubber plugs.


Installation
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Install plastic caps with lugs downward.
- Tighten lines to hydraulic unit to: 15 Nm
- Bleed brake system. Service and Repair
- Read and clear any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)s.
