Rattling Noises After Engine Cold Start Until Oil Pressure Has Built Up

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of rattling noises after engine cold start until oil pressure has built up, please do not perform any repairs and/or adjustments in the engine.

A brief rattling noise, up to 2 seconds, may occur after cold start and an extended engine shut-off time (usually overnight or longer); since the engine oil bleeds completely out of the camshaft adjuster.

Please inform the customer accordingly that this is normal operation of the vehicle.
