72-050 Removal, Installation And Adjustment of Driver's Door





Special Tool:






Installation and adjustment
1 Insert electrical and pneumatic lines through opening on end of door inner panel.







2 Position driver's door hinges on attachment surfaces of front pillar and tighten screws in hinges lightly.
3 Fasten door retainer on front pillar.
4 Screw off striker eye.







5 Align driver's door on hinge side so that the door panelling on the driver's door is flush with the contour of the front fender or max. 1 mm lower.
6 Check gap around driver's door and correct, if required.
Gap width (60-070).







7 Tighten screws on hinges.







8 Screw on striker eye, however do not tighten.







9 Insert centering gauge into door lock until lock catches completely (latch stage 2).
The centering gauges for the left and right door locks are different. Observe marking "L" or "R".







10 Position depth stop on outer door panel at height of striker eye and close door until depth stop contacts on both sides.
11 Press striker eye into centering gauge from inside through open window and tighten screws (17 Nm).
12 Pull outer door handle and remove centering gauge.
13 Check door for easy motion.
14 Reinstall in reverse order.
