Ventilation

Function
Ventilation system:
- keeps the windows from fogging up
- provides oxygen for the vehicle passengers
- helps to achieve a uniform and pleasant temperature in the passenger compartment rapidly.

In normal operation, ventilation is accomplished with the support of the blower when the vehicle is standing still or to increase the flow rate.

Fresh air is sucked in through the air intake in the engine hood and through the main air flaps into the automatic A/C housing. The air travels through the air ducts to the air outlets into the passenger compartment depending on the settings on the pushbutton control module.
In the recirculated air mode, air is sucked out of the vehicle interior by the fan through the recirculated air flap (main air flaps are closed) and into the automatic A/C housing. The air flows through the nozzles below the rear shelf into the trunk and out of the vehicle through the rear compartment nozzle.
