Location
The "CHECK ENGINE" MIL is located in the instrument cluster.

Task
Indicating faults in the fuel injection system

Function
The indicator lamp is actuated by the engine control unit at the ground end or by the instrument cluster (via CAN - Message). To check the function of the incandescent lamp, the lamp is lit on ignition ON and for approx. 1 second as of an engine speed of approx. 500 rpm. If there is no fault, the indicator lamp goes off.
