Parktronic System (PTS)

Procedure
The Parktronic system (PTS) control module performs a self-test when the ignition is switched on. It tests the control module, the sensors and the leads to the sensors.

After the self-test, all active warning displays are fully actuated for approx. 2 s, i.e. all the segments and frames of the active warning displays light up.

System in order:
Models 140, 202, 203, 208, 210, 215, 220
- The frames of the active warning displays light up.

Model 163
- The first elements of the active warning displays light up at half brightness.

Malfunction:
Models 140, 202, 203, 208, 210, 215, 220
- All the red segments and the Ted parts of the frames on the active warning displays light up.

Model 163
- All the red segments of the active warning displays light up.

If a warning display receives no valid signals within 1/2s of the ignition being switched on, the two red segments of the relevant warning display light up, a warning tone (lasting approx. 3 s) is activated and after 20s the warning display is switched off.

During operation the control module performs system tests at regular intervals in which components of the Parktronic system (PTS) are tested.
