GF82.95-P-2006PM Voice Connection To Vehicle, Function

MODEL 203.0 /2 /7
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
- up to Model Year 8

Regardless of the type of emergency call, in addition to the SMS transmission, a voice connection is immediately established to the service center, and the user can discuss the matter with a customer service representative. If the service center is unable to establish a connection to the vehicle, the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) then attempts to establish a connection from the vehicle to the service center. The information service is a free service provided by Mercedes-Benz Customer Service.

The hands-free system microphone group (A67b1) is used for voice input. Voice output is not via the standard vehicle speakers, but via the left front emergency speaker (H4/46) and the right front emergency speaker (H4/47). Both speakers are discretely actuated by the emergency call system control unit (N123/4). Normally, the telephone connection is established through the telephone antenna (A2/22), which is on the roof of the vehicle. If there is a problem or fault with the telephone antenna (A2/22) (such as in the case of a vehicle rollover), there are two emergency antennas located in the rear bumper. These antennas are the emergency call system backup antenna on the left side (A2/54) and the emergency call system backup antenna on the right side (A2/55).The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) detects the failure of the roof antenna and automatically actuates the two emergency backup antennas.
