Complaint:
Noises from area of seat adjuster or cushion frame.
Cause:
Noises that are localized in this area of the seat (seat adjuster or cushion frame) are not caused by the seat adjusters. The component responsible is the cushion frame or the cushion frame brackets. It is absolutely essential to not replace the seat adjuster, but instead, the cushion frame brackets. The cushion frame brackets in vehicles produced prior to 31 March 2006 develop a burr as mileage increases, which can lead to the noise complaint described above. The burr can be seen in the illustration attached below:

Remedy:
Important note:
Also perform the action if you are performing work on the seat adjustment. When the brackets are exposed during the work, the remedial action must be performed depending on the VIN range to prevent follow-up repairs.
In these cases the seat adjusters must not be replaced.
If the above damage profile is present, replace only the relevant cushion frame brackets with object number A0009140029.
These cushion frame brackets are partially coated as of 31.03.2006 to prevent this burr from developing.
The bolted connection must always be made using a microencapsulated bolt with object number N000 000 00 4180 (hexalobular bolt MBN 10226-M6x12-8.8-MK DBL 9469).
