High beam function
Function requirements:
- Circuit 15R ON
- The exterior lamp switch (S1s1) of the light switch module (S1) is set to the "driving lamps ON" position

The combination switch (S4) is set to "high beam ON" position. The steering column module (N80) records the switch position of the combination switch (S4) and sends the signal "high beam ON" via the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and the instrument cluster (A1). The instrument cluster (A1) switches on the blue high beam indicator lamp (A1e3). The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates over the xenon headlamp control unit (E1n1) the left high beam solenoid (E1l1). The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates via the xenon headlamp control unit (E2n1) the right high beam solenoid (E2l1).

The solenoids for left high beam solenoid (E1l1) and right high beam solenoid (E2l1) move the apertures thus exposing the entire light beam.

Headlamp flasher with driving lamps function
Function requirements:
- Circuit 15R ON
- The exterior lamp switch (S1s1) of the light switch module (S1) is set to the "driving lamps ON" position

The combination switch (S4) is set to "headlamp flasher ON" position. The steering column module (N80) records the switch position of the combination switch (S4) and sends the signal "headlamp flasher ON" via the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and the instrument cluster (A1) to actuate the blue high-beam indicator lamp (A1e3). The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates via the xenon headlamp control unit (E1n1) the left high beam solenoid (E1l1).

The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates over the xenon headlamp control unit (E2n1) the right high beam solenoid (E2l1). The solenoids for left high beam solenoid (E1l1) and right high beam solenoid (E2l1) move the apertures thus exposing the entire light beam.

Headlamp flasher without daytime driving lights function
Function requirements:
- Circuit 15R ON
- The low beam may not be switched on

The combination switch (S4) is held in "headlamp flasher ON" position. The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) controls the following lamps via a discrete wiring:
- Left high beam (E1e1)
- Right high beam (E2e1)

Discontinuation of the "high beam ON" or "headlamp flasher ON" request cancels the function by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
