Prerequisites For Testing Generator


DANGER:
- Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and goggles. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

1 Remove dust filter housing Replace dust filter for heating/air conditioning
2.1 Detach lower engine compartment paneling
2.2 Remove bottom section of sound-proofing capsule
3 Check cables on battery, generator and starter

NOTE: Tight seating and proper condition of the cables must be guaranteed.

4 Check ground strap between engine and body for tight seating and proper condition
5 Check terminal 30 backup fuse

NOTE: The backup fuse is integrated into the cable harness.

6 Inspect tension of poly V-belt
7 Install in the reverse sequence
