AR32.25-P-1017PW Remove/Install the Suspension Strut

Remove/install Front Spring Strut







DANGER:
- Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

CAUTION: Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts

1 Raise vehicle.
2 Remove the front wheels
3 Unclip wheelspeed sensor wire from strut assembly (11)
4 Remove bracket for wheelspeed sensor/brake pad wear sensor contact wires from strut

NOTE: Release the bracket.

5 Guide the brake line from the bracket on the strut assembly (11)
6 Dismantle brake caliper (33)

NOTE: Do not open brake lines. Suspend the brake caliper from the body.

7 Detach torsion bar linkage rod (23) from strut (11).

NOTE: Use Alien wrench to apply counterpressure to the ball joint as required.

8 Remove strut (11) from steering knuckle assembly
9 Tie steering knuckle assembly in place
10 Disconnect strut (11) from dome.

NOTE: Secure strut (11) to prevent it from falling.

11 Install in the reverse order
12 Perform chassis alignment check
