Front or Rear Window Noisy When Opening or Closing

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that either the front or rear window makes noise when opening or closing, the noise may be caused by the clip between the window lifter mechanism and the window. The plastic clip (Figure 1) can move under load and rub against the glass surface. The noise is generally a knock noise that occurs either when the window is nearly fully open or closed. Resolve by installing the current version of this clip (Figure 2 and 3) per the parts information below. Two clips are required for the front window and one clip for the rear window. Replace clip(s) as per the below procedure.

1. Remove interior door panel, refer to WIS documents AR72.10-P-1000P (front door) and AR72.12-P- 1040P (rear door).

2. Detach lower half of the weather shield/sound insulation and hold up with duct tape.

3. Lower window to the assembly position to access the window clips.

4. Use duct tape to support window in this position.

5. Remove one clip (Figure 1) at a time (front window only) and replace with redesigned clip (Figure 2 & 3).

NOTE:
The window must be touching and aligned with the vertical guide rail before tightening the retaining bolt.

6. Fasten weather shield/sound insulation back in place.

7. Reinstall interior door panel, refer to WIS documents AR72.10-P-1000P (front door) and AR72.12-P-1010P (rear door).

8. Check express open and close functions.
