Body - Water Leaks Into Front Footwells

Water Penetration in Front Footwell(s)
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicle VIN ranges of water in the front footwell(s), check the left front wheel well seam per the below procedure.
1. Visually inspect seam sealer as described in Figure 1 and Figure 2.
2. Open hood.
3. Check seam sealer at front spring tower (visual inspection).
4. If seam sealer is incorrect, continue as follows.
5. Remove protective cover from fender.
6. Open driver's door.
7. Completely move driver's seat backwards.
8. Remove interior paneling at left front entrance.
9. Remove paneling from A-pillar. For 203, refer to WIS document no. AR68.30-P-4050P: for 209, refer to WIS document no. AR68.30-P-4050Q.
10. Perform check for water penetration (Figure 3).
11. Spray water down windshield on drivers side using water hose.
12. Check interior for water penetration. Hold floor covering to one side, view with drop light (Figure 4).
13. If water penetration in the interior is found to be coming from this seam, remove the dust filter housing from the air conditioning system.
14. Disconnect battery ground cable. For 203, refer to WIS document no. AR54.10-P-0003P; for 209, refer to WIS document no. AR54.10-P-0003Q. Observe all cautions and warnings, refer to WIS document no. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A and AH54.10-P-0001-01A.
15. Remove ignition key. Remove/install left and right wiper arms. For 203, refer to WIS document no. AR82.30-P-6100P; for 209, refer to WIS document no. AR82.30-P-0001Q. Observe all cautions and warnings, refer to WIS document no. AS82.30-Z-0001-01A.
16. Remove/install cover (Figure 4, 1) over fuse and relay box.
17. Remove/install lid on Signal Acquisition and Actuation Module (driver SAM).
18. Remove/install wiper system, refer to WIS document no. AR82.30-P-6400P.
19. Remove/install fuel injection system control unit, refer to WIS document no. ARO7.08-P-7008P.
20. Remove/install Signal Acquisition and Actuation Module (driver SAM).
21. Remove/install left floor mat.
22. Remove/install accelerator pedal, refer to WIS document no. AR30.12-P-1321P.
23. Remove/install cover for bearing bracket.
24. Remove/install left front floor covering, refer to WIS document no. AR68.20-P-2050P.
25. Remove/install noise absorber.
26. Remove/install relay box (Figure 4, 3) and secure to the side.
27. Subsequently seal seam under left front fuse and relay box, refer to WIS document no. AR97.10-P-4000-01P.
28. Install components in reverse order.
29. Connect exhaust gas hose.
30. Start engine and check systems. Observe all cautions and warnings, refer to WIS document no. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A.
31. Perform basic programming. For 203, refer to WIS document no. AR00.19-P-0200P; for 209, refer to WIS document no. AR00.00-P-0200Q.
32. Perform function check.
33. Using SDS, perform Short Test.
