Component Identification:

1 Open coupler (2) of fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) on the side of the red connector (rt).
2 Remove the red connector (rt) from coupler (2).
3 Open the coupling for the fiber optic cable for the radio (A2) or for the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
4 Remove the red connector (rt) from the coupling for the fiber optic cable for the radio (A2) or for the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).







5 Insert the red connector (rt) of the coupling for the radio fiber optic cable (A2) or the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) into coupler (2) of the fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) and close coupler (2).
6 Insert the red connector (rt) of the fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) into the coupling for the radio (A2) fiber optic cable or the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and close the coupling for the fiber optic cable.
7 Route the coupling for the fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) behind the instrument panel carrier into the glove compartment.

Risk of breakage: Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.
