GF54.65-P-2000Q Self-test, Function
- with CODE (220a) Parktronic system (PTS)

Self-test
Immediately after the ignition is switched on the Parktronic control module (N62) carries out a self-test, all the LEDs in the PTS warning display, rear (A44/3) and PTS warning display, center o instrument panel (A44/4) are actuated with a brightness of 60 % for approx. 1 second.
If there are no system faults, the display goes out and the frames of the PTS warning display, rear (A44/3) and the PTS warning display, center of instrument panel (A44/4) light up. The system goes over to measuring mode and indicates the current measured value. The Parktronic control module (N62) carries out other part-tests at regular intervals.
The Parktronic control module (N62), the front bumper PTS sensor unit and rear bumper PTS sensor unit (A42, A43) and the lines to the sensors are checked (A42b1, A42b2, A42b3, A42b4, A42b5, A42b6, A43b7, A43b8, A43b9 and A43b10).

A malfunction can be caused by an ultrasonic signal produced externally (e.g. compressed air). 2 red LEDs are displayed in the PTS warning display, rear (A44/3) and PTS warning display, center of instrument panel (A44/4), an acoustic warning is absent. If the malfunction exists for longer than 2 minutes, it is interpreted as a fault. In addition a chime is output. The display goes out after a further 20 seconds.
Definite faults are signaled immediately by 2 red LEDs and a chime. In this case the display also goes out after approx. 20 seconds.
All faults found are stored in the diagnostic trouble code memory. Bus faults are the exception here. Although these are detected, they are not stored in the Parktronic control module (N62) and can therefore only be read out via diagnosis for as long as they currently apply.
