GF82.61-P-4000QMJ Destination-Oriented Navigation In Digitalized Map Area, Function
- with CODE (498) Japan version

Destination-oriented navigation begins once the driver has entered destination, the position of the vehicle has been determined using the global positioning system (GPS), and the route has been calculated. The destination-oriented navigation uses images on the display of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) and the voice output of the navigation system to guide the driver to the desired destination. The driver can select one of the following map views in the destination-oriented navigation mode:
^ Destination-oriented navigation map
^ Route map (displays the entire route)
- 2D/3D switch (bird's-eye view)
- Split screen
- 2D/3D intersection zoom
- Lane recommendation
- Freeway information

The maps can be displayed in various sizes. For a better orientation on the screen, it is possible to select from 2 map orientations:
^ In the direction of travel
^ Facing north
