Component Identification:






1 Cut off white, 4-pin coupling (4) from AUX socket wiring harness (1).
2 Fit one MQS socket (18) each to the ends of the cut-off lines of the AUX socket wiring harness (1).










Ensure that the AUX socket (1) wiring harness is routed without kinking or chafing during the subsequent work procedure otherwise the AUX socket wiring harness (1) may be damaged. The AUX socket wiring harness (1) must be routed and secured in such a way that it does not generate any noise when the vehicle is being driven.

3 Route AUX socket wiring harness (1) along existing wiring harness (2) and along instrument panel crossmember (11) to cable duct (6).
4 Route AUX socket wiring harness (1) between strut (12) and retaining plate (10) into the cable duct (6) as shown.
5 Route AUX socket wiring harness (1) through cable duct (6) into radio installation recess.
6 Align AUX socket wiring harness (1) so that there is sufficient excess cable at both ends of the wiring harness.
7 Protect AUX socket wiring harness (1) from chafing through by affixing adhesive felt tape (5).
8 Secure AUX socket wiring harness (1) to existing wiring harness (2) and instrument panel crossmember (11) using cable ties.
9 Remove soundproofing material (7) from removed glove box (3) in vicinity of perforated section (8) and break out perforated section (8) with a screwdriver.










10 Position the glove box (3) on the installation location in the instrument panel.

The glove box (3) will be properly installed later on.

11 Install Walkman interface (X39/45) of AUX socket wiring harness (1) at side of glove box (3), counterhold Walkman interface (X39/45) and fully engage trim ring (13) in housing of Walkman interface (X39/45).
12 Check position of felt adhesive tape (5) on AUX socket wiring harness (1) and correct if necessary.







13 Pin MQS sockets (18) into relevant contact cavities of contact carrier (19).

Please ensure that the MQS sockets (18) are fully engaged in the contact carrier (19), otherwise malfunctions may occur.

Assignment of contact cavities of contact carrier (19):
Transparent line (tr) -> Contact cavity no. 5
Black line (sw) -> Contact cavity no. 6
Brown line (br) -> Contact cavity no. 11
Yellow line (ge) -> Contact cavity no. 12

14 Slide housing (coding B) onto contact carrier (19) and engage.
15 Slide contact carrier (19) into coupling (20) and engage as shown.

Please pay attention to contact carrier (19) installation location in coupling (20) that is shown.
The coupling (20) is connected to the radio or the radio and navigation unit later (depending on the vehicle equipment).
