AZ88.00-P-0001-03Q Modify Rear Bumper

Pay attention to paint damage.







1. Install center chrome molding (2), left chrome molding (3) and right chrome molding (4) in rear bumper paneling (1).

First install center chrome molding (2) and then side chrome moldings.







2. Check whether chrome moldings are arrested correctly on inside of rear bumper paneling (1); if necessary press down again (see arrow).







3. Glue heavy foil (5) to center of rear bumper paneling (1) (see figure).







4. Insert tow hook cover (6) into rear bumper paneling and hook in check strap (7)







On vehicles with new inner section

5.1. Cut out rectangular elevation (20) on left and right inner section (8)







On vehicles with double end pipe

6.1. Separate retaining stay (22) from inner section (8)







On vehicles with double end pipe

7.1. Inner section (8) cut out in marked areas (see figure).

On vehicles with double end pipes, reinforced rubber exhaust mounts are used which collide with inner section (8) in these areas.

8. Insert inner section (8) into rear bumper paneling

Ensure that retaining lugs are seated correctly and not damaged.

Vehicles with Keyless Go code 889

9.1. Install rear bumper Keyless Go antenna (A2/31) removed from standard bumper in inner section (8) with a bolt (F5x18-A2).







Vehicles with Parktronic system (PTS) Code 220

10.1. Insert PTS wiring harnesses (9) removed from standard bumper in inner section (8) and fasten in mounts present.

11.1. Insert rear bumper PTS sensor units (A43) removed from standard bumper in brackets of rear bumper paneling (1).

Before inserting sensors, check decoupling rings, replace if damaged.







12. Fasten inner section (8) in rear bumper paneling (1) wit clips (10).

Before installing, ensure that inner section (8) is seated correctly in lower area of rear bumper paneling (1).Press clips (10) onto retaining lugs with suitable tool When installing, counterhold rear bumper paneling (1); components jumps back.







13. Install right and left protecting rail (11) on right and left side reinforcements (12).

It is not possible to mix up the protecting rails.They are coded by fastening points (see arrows).







14. Insert left and right side reinforcements (12) into rear bumper paneling (1).
15. Fasten left and right side reinforcements (12) to upper edge with three blind rivets (13) each, with three clips (10) and one holddown clip (14) to rear bumper paneling (1).







16. Press left and right side reinforcements (12) as far as possible into rear bumper paneling (1) drill two holes (dia. 4.2 mm) in left and right side reinforcements (12) on both sides.
17. Fasten left and right side reinforcements (12) to rear bumper paneling (1) with two additional blind rivets (13).







18. Glue subsurfaces (14) to inner section (8)







19. Clean contact surfaces (15) for paneling bottom section on rear bumper paneling (1).

The area to be glued on the rear bumper paneling (1) must be free of dust and grease.For cleaning, use mixture of IPA (Isopropanol alcohol) and water with a ratio of 50 : 50.


Component Identification:






20. Position bottom section paneling (16) on end pipe cutout, glue into embossment in center and press on firmly over entire surface.







21. Drill dia. 5 mm holes in end pipe cutout and fasten paneling bottom section (16) to rear bumper paneling (1) with two expansion rivets.

The position of the hole is marked.
