GF82.10-P-3009Q Hazard Warning Flasher Actuation Function

Component Identification:

Function requirements:
^ The hazard warning system switch (N72/1s5) has been operated.

Function
The upper control panel control unit (N72/1) has read in the position of the hazard warning flasher system switch (N72/1s5) and transmits the "hazard warning flasher ON" message to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via the class B (interior) Controller Area Network Bus (CAN-B). This then actuates the following turn signal lamps:
^ Left taillamp (E3) and left turn signal lamp (E3e1)
^ Right taillamp (E4) and right turn signal lamp (E4e1)

The "hazard warning flasher ON" message is simultaneously transmitted to the relevant lighting system control units and components via the CAN-B:
^ From the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) to the left turn signal lamp (E1e5) and the right turn signal lamp (E2e5).
^ Via the left door control unit (N69/1) to the left outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/5).
^ Via the right door control unit (N69/2) to the right outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/6).

The instrument cluster (A1) both visually and audibly indicates the turn signal procedure, by actuating the left turn signal indicator lamp (A1e1) and right turn signal indicator lamp (A1e2) as well as the audible turn signal indicator (A1h2).

The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) serves as a flash master for all flashing functions.

Hazard flashers after airbag deployment
In the event of airbag deployment, a "crash signal" message is transmitted to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) by the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) via the CAN-B.
This activates the hazard warning flasher function.

The hazard warning flasher function is switched off by pressing the hazard warning system switch (N72/1s5) in the upper control panel control unit (N72/1).

In vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch, the "hazard warning flashing ON" message is transmitted by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) to the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1), which actuates the 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58).
