Complaint
Fuel gauge dropping to empty with no activation of the reserve light and the below symptoms

Cause
- No faulty components found in the fuel system per DTB P-B-47.00/36, "Fuel Gauge Fault Tree"

- Includes one of the following fault codes:

^ Fault code B112B "Sensor 2 for fuel level is jammed" in the instrument cluster

^ Fault code 9135 "Sensor 2 for fuel level is jammed" in the instrument cluster

Remedy
Can be resolved by updating the instrument cluster software per the below applicable procedure.

For Model 203 as of VIN A577855, R123262 or F479924 using SDS 05/05 or greater:

1. Follow menu path: Control Units -> Information and Communication -> Instrument Cluster with maintenance interval display -> Control Unit Adaptations -> Version Coding -> Fuel Tank Sensor -> Tank Parameters

2. Code according to the vehicle engine type (if coding can be updated it will say "not current").

Note:
If the parameter does not say "not current", the instrument cluster has been installed with the most updated software.

3. Press F3 to confirm.

4. Press F5 to write coding to control unit.

5. Press F3, to confirm the transfer of coding to the control unit.

For Model 203 up to VIN A577854, R123262 or F479923 using SDS 08/08 or greater

1. Contact the TAC and obtain password to access factory coding.

2. Enter password by entering into the following STAR Diagnosis menus:
- Control Units -> Information and Communication -> Instrument Cluster with Maintenance Interval Display -> Special Functions -> Enter password in white box -> Press F2

3. Press F3 on the following screen to download new fuel parameters.

Note:
After performing the update, version coding "Fuel Tank Sensor," via menu path: Control Units -> Information and Communication -> Instrument Cluster with maintenance interval display -> Control Unit Adaptations -> Version Coding -> Fuel Tank Sensor, will be set to dashes or "not current". Do not change coding it is correct.

For Model 209 using SDS 07/05 or greater:

1. Follow menu path: Control Units->Information and Communication->Instrument Cluster with maintenance interval display->Control Unit Adaptations ->Fuel Tank Sensor->Fuel Tank Sensor

2. Code according to vehicle fuel tank size (if coding can be updated it will say "not coded").

Note:
If the parameter does not say "not coded", the instrument cluster has been installed with the most updated software.

3. Press F3 to confirm.

4. Press F5 to write coding to control unit.

5. Press F3, to confirm the transfer of coding to the control unit.

For Model 211 or 219 using SDS 07/05 or greater:

1. Follow menu path: Control Units->Information and Communication->Instrument Cluster with maintenance interval display->Control Unit Adaptations->Version Coding->Fuel Tank Version Coding will update automatically.
