The gear is implausible or the transmission is slipping. ( 1. gear )


Possible cause:

- Mechanical or hydraulic defect in the transmission

- Do not unplug the STAR DIAGNOSIS unit from the diagnostic socket during the procedure.

- This fault code may point to a bogus fault in control unit N15/3 (ETC [EGS] control unit).
Possible remedy

- Read out fault freeze frame data.

Possible cause

- The gear ratio in the rear axle gear is not OK.
Possible remedy

- Unscrew the housing cover from the rear axle gear and check the gear ratio by counting the teeth on the ring gear.

IMPORTANT NOTE

- The oil level in the automatic transmission is too low.

- Inspect oil level, adjust to correct level if necessary.

- Refill oil in automatic transmission up to maximum oil level mark at oil temperature of 80° C.
