Interior - Dash/Door Panel Trim Misalignment

Instrument Panel Trim Does Not Align with Door Trim





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles or the instrument panel trim not aligning to the door trim (Figure 1, 1), this may be due to mounting tolerances during production assembly. To resolve, follow the below steps.

1. Remove center console. Refer to WIS document AR68.20-P-2000TX.

2. Remove covering under instrument panel. Refer to WIS document AR68.10-P-1500TX.

3. Remove instrument cluster. Refer to WIS document AR54.30-P-6015TX.

4. Loosen the following:





a. Upper mounting bolt on driver side (Figure 2)





b. Lower mounting bolt under instrument panel (Figure 3)





c. Mounting bolts behind instrument cluster (Figure 4)





d. Both mounting bolts on passenger side (Figure 5)








e. Both lower mounting bolts (Figure 6 and 7)

5. Lift instrument panel and adjust to the same level as the door panel.

6. Tighten bolts in the following order:

a. Side mounting bolts (Figure 2 and 5)

b. Mounting bolts behind the instrument cluster (Figure 4)

c. Lower mounting bolts (Figure 6 and 7)

d. Lower mounting bolt under instrument panel (Figure 3)

7. Reinstall center console, cover under instrument panel and instrument cluster.
