MODEL 219.3 up to 30.6.06
with CODE (494) USA version

Component Identification:

The SBC pedal value sensor is located in the SBC operating unit (1).

Component Identification:

Task
The SBC pedal value sensor conveys the position of the brake pedal specified by the driver (driver's requirement) to the SBC control unit (A7/3n1).

The SBC control unit determines through the SBC pedal value sensor the operating speed of the brake pedal, from this it detects whether an emergency stop exists and a BAS brake application has to be introduced.

The SBC pedal value sensor conveys to the SBC control unit the travel of the thrust rod (1c), which acts on the tandem master brake cylinder (1a) of the operating unit (1), it therefore also serves to activate or deactivate the SBC multiple value function of SBC-Hold.

Design
Sensor with mechanism which converts the linear travel of the thrust rod (1c), which acts on the tandem master brake cylinder (1a), into a rotary motion for the redundant Hall sensor.

Redundant design:

In the event of failure of a Hall sensor signal it is possible to fall back on the signal from another Hall sensor. The two Hall sensor signals are constantly checked relative to one another for plausibility by the SBC control unit.
